Dr. San Guinary | Video Archive

Prior to 2001, the hardest thing to find was video footage of Dr. San Guinary. Since Creature Feature ran from 1971 – 1983, and the home video market didn’t get into full swing until the mid-80’s, finding Dr. San Guinary fans who could afford $1200 for a VCR was a rare thing.

The video that did make it out of KMTV’s vault and into the hands of fandom were thanks to KMTV folks like Cal Kirshen, Rich “Willard” Wooster and Charlie Coffiero. These folks contributed video and memorabilia to the Weblab on many occaisions. On top of this, the Jones family have not only approved of my website, but have contributed to it. It’s thanks to the generosity of Jason Jones (John’s son) that i had the large collection of Dr. San Guinary clips to add to the Weblab. Also, great fans like Jim Kaffenburger (who gave me my first taste of Dr. San Guinary on VHS) and Michael Hirtes made sure to help Creature Feature fandom by passing video to either me or other fans. All of these folks helped me make the Weblab what it is today.

In 2001, KMTV revived Creature Feature, with it’s host Son of San Guinary. One of the best ideas for the revival was to run “classic” Dr. San Guinary footage, much of which hadn’t seen the light of day since they first aired. Finally, Dr. San Guinary fans could have their own copies of these lost moments.

In 2011, DrSanGuinary.Org will be releasing a DVD chock full of this footage, along with a lot of clips that hadn’t seen the light of day since they first aired on Creature Feature. All proceeds will be going to MDA. Check DrSanGuinary.Org for more details.
