The years during and after CREATURE FEATURE ran on the local Omaha airwaves, Dr. SanGuinary and the show were featured in a few articles in the local news papers. A few of them have been found and are featured below.
Some of these were found by going through the microphish files at the main library in Omaha and some were from clippings donated by local fans. In all cases I would like to express my gratitude.
Dr. San Guinary Back in Omaha The creepy, yet lovable Dr. San Guinary is back from the grave. He lives on with Palmer’s nearly perfect interpretation, “Let’s bring it back in some capacity. See if it’s got wings. It’s just been a beautiful thing today.”
Watching “Creature Feature” from behind the couch. “My column today was about Dr. San Guinary, a local horror show host back in the ’70s. The show started before I was born, and by the time I was old enough to watch it, 4 or 5 or 6, I wasn’t allowed to. (My mom was very anti-monster. The only monstery thing I was ever allowed to watch was “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.”)”
Dr. San Guinary, and his cause, are not forgotten by fans. “Years and years after a mad doctor’s death, his family and followers get together to bring the old ghoul back from the grave. Hide your eyeballs, boys and girls, because the deeply demented and dearly beloved Dr. San Guinary is alive and schticking.

John Corrado: Dr. San Guinary Memories “Being 31 years old and now living in Mason City, IA, it was a real treat stumbling across this website and reliving a ton of childhood memories. The opening music to Creature Feature and all the other recordings you had opened the floodgates to a ton of memories that I had forgotten through time. ”
Teresa Thomas - Dr. San Guinary Memories “Since I grew up watching Creature Feature, I was pleased to see your website. However, my memories of Creature Feature and Dr. San are much more personal. You see, my father directed the show so there were some nights when we (my brother, sister and I) were allowed to go and watch them tape the show.”
The Family Of John Jones : Thank you for a job well done. The Family of John Johnes (Doc Sanguinary) would like to congratulate Bill Haas, the volunteers and sponsors for a successful fifth annual Doctor Sanguinary golf tournament for MD.
Peter Citron: San Guinary Grins Ghoulishly at Ratings Since February, KMTV’s San Guinary has turned dying into a viable product after the Saturday night news. Before that, according to San Guinary, “We were running the Best Of The Carson show and dying.”
Dr San Guinary... Former Host of Horror Refuses to Let Cancer Frighten Him John vowed to be back in green makeup again for his 18th telethon next September. “I have no doubt of it.” “I’m convinced I’m gonna beat this thing,” he said. “I have a positive attitude.”
The Sounds of Creature Feature There are items that are collectibles that every fan has a chance to own… a photo, a videotape, a t-shirt…. and there are collectibles that are one-of-a-kind, that only one exists.
