In
the days before everyone could afford vcr's, many of us found amusement
at recording television shows with our little hand held tape recorders,
microphones held firmly to the t.v.'s tiny speaker. I have dozens
of such tapes which I listened to for hours at a time while working
away at the artboard. If your in your later twenties, you probably
have a few tapes of your own .
Somewhere, stored amongst the audio-recorded episodes of WonderWoman and Saturday
Night Live were a batch of about 20 audio tapes of mine that were specail.
These tapes held actual episodes of Creature Feature on thier dusty
spindles.
I am in the process of storing them all onto disk for future reference, so as to prevent their deterioration. Audio
tape wears out eventually. In fact, as I recorded the samples for this WWW site, one of the tapes decided to give up the ghost and disintegrated just as I had fininshed dubbing it to a new audio tape! This sort of
event is frightening to me , as getting Dr. San Guinary/ Creature Feature is already tough enough,
and I don't need anymore hurdles.
Another reason these are audio collections is that Creature Feature ran from 1971 till 1981
(approx.), just prior to the VCR revolution. There are a few fans out there with actual video tape
footage of Creature Feature, but it is hard to come by.
This is a list of audio files from Creature Feature, suitable for use on your computer!
This is a small sampling of the Dr. San Guinary audio I have, with much more to be loaded on in the
future. From my last count, I have over twenty-five episodes of Creature Feature and related audio- samples
available.
